In Memoriam

Patricia Martinez

Patricia Martinez

Patricia Martinez passed away 2/16/1999 at the age of 29.

Patricia “Trish” was not only my best friend, but my sister. Trisha and I met each other when we both attended Kearney Elementary for the first time in third grade. She also attended Nava and De Vargas Jr. High. We remained BFF’s until the day of her death. Even though she is not here on this earth she is still my best friend and sister and I think of her each and every day. Trisha was a wonderful person with a big heart; she was liked by most but loved by all who knew her. She was a certified cosmetologist and a mother of three beautiful children, Esparanza, Estevan and Brianna.  Patricia is survived by her three loving children, brother David Martinez, Parents Antonio and Joann Martinez, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs Antonio Martinez and Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.....

Patricia “Trish” will forever remain in my heart and will never be forgotten.

From Her Sister, Sharon “Gina” Valencia-Branch

I knew Tricia since Nava Elementary. She lived right down the street from me. We hung out alot during our Elementary school days and a little during Junior High at De Vargas. Somewhere along the line we lost touch and I didn't see her again until we were out of school, both with kids, and remember saying we should get together. That never happened due to her untimely death and that is something I regret. It is sooo important to keep in touch with those you care about and don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today - no one is promised tomorrow. I am grateful for having known her and she is still missed.

Trisha and I were in Band together for as long as I could remember.  She was an awesome friend and had a wonderful personality.  The kind that everyone wanted to be around.  I am sadden to find out that she has passed away.  I guess that is how long I have been out of touch from Santa Fe.  I hope that her memory lives on for a very long time.  Anyone that would have known her would know that she would have succeeded in all that she went after.  R.I.P. Trish.  I will pray for you and the memories that we had were awesome and never forgotten especially the ones at Band Camp in Junior High School.
